Roadmap

The mandate of the AtoM Foundation Roadmap Committee is to develop recommendations relating to the functional and design requirements for AtoM 3. Rather than developing code, Roadmap Committee activities are intended to structure archivist domain use cases to share actionable documentation to the AtoM community. The Committee’s activities are therefore independent of specific AtoM 3 development. To date, this work includes:

  • Domain Modelling training for Roadmap Committee members
  • Conducting domain modelling sessions for eventual distribution back to the AtoM Foundation membership
  • Proposing AtoM 3 design principles
         - Proposed design principles can be viewed at https://bit.ly/2022_atom3_rc

         - Accessible text for slides can be found at https://bit.ly/2022_atom3_rc_text
  • Collecting AtoM 3 design principles membership feedback
  • Ongoing maintenance of the AtoM 3 Wishlist

Survey

The Access to Memory (AtoM) Foundation conducted a community survey in May 2019 in order to gather information to inform the design and development of AtoM 3, a successor version to the AtoM 2 software currently used by archival institutions all over the world.

The survey results will also allow the Foundation to gather feedback on an AtoM 3 proof of concept proposal submitted to the Foundation by an international group of organizations dedicated to developing and supporting open-source software: AIM 25 (UK), Artefactual Systems (Canada), Docuteam (Switzerland), Imagiz (UK), Nothing Interactive (Switzerland), and Zazuko (Switzerland).

Thank you to all participants for helping to inform the design and development of AtoM 3.

Sondage
